10 years of support for the joint presentation of the capital region Berlin-Brandenburg at gamescom – that's a great anniversary for the industry and medianet berlinbrandenburg e.V.

10 years in which „Games Capital Berlin“ has developed and grown dynamically: one fifth of all German games companies are located in the capital region and generated around 446 million euros in total sales in the core market in 2021. The full innovative power and drive of „Games Capital Berlin“ can be experienced again this year in the gamescom Business Area. From established players to specialized service providers and young indie studios, an exciting cross-section of Berlin's games industry will be presented.

The Senate Economic Administration is helping to finance this joint presentation and recently launched the new Transfer BONUS Gamification funding program. In addition, the games industry is supported with other initiatives such as the location campaign gamescapital.berlin and the medianet GAMES International - Transatlantic project. Our goal is to position Berlin as the No. 1 games hotspot in Germany with international appeal.

BERLIN–BRANDENBURG RECEPTION

After welcoming words by State Secretary Michael Biel and Jeannine Koch, Managing Director of medianet berlinbrandenburg e.V., our Berlin-Brandenburg reception will take place from 1 to 2:30 pm.

For the second time, we will be organising our reception together with a host region. We are very happy about the cooperation with the Institut français Germany, which will present the first edition of its programme Women making Games.

Together we will celebrate this collaboration with an exquisite mix of traditional Berlin specialities and French delicacies.
